Summary: "Great pill splitter...even for those pills that crumble easily!"
I have to cut Prevacid 30mg tablets in half for my infant son who takes 15mg once a day. The tablets crumble very easily. I originally purchased the Pill Crusher/Splitter with Cup and Storage Compartment sold on Amazon, but the pill still crumbled when I used it. I started to give it a bad review, then thought that maybe this tablet was just "unsplittable". So I decided to buy one more pill splitter, just to test my theory. I bought this one and it cuts the Prevacid tablets wonderfully. Unlike the first splitter I bought, the pill stays still while cutting and is cut cleanly in half without crumbling. It's wonderful! Don't hesitate to buy.

Summary: "As long as I don't cut off my finger..."
This has been a great little pill cutter, the only problem with it is that the finger guard thing got all out of whack and had to be removed so I could actually use it. Possible I could have fixed it if I had another one to look at to see what had happened.

Summary: "My Cat Likes It"
I bought this as a present for my cat. He has to take half a pill every morning and this works great. I can prep a whole month's worth in just a few minutes. The cutting is easy and fairly accurate.
The cat's pills are small and round. I tried it on a larger, oval-shaped medication I used and it works well there too. Just need to take a little more care to ensure it's lined up for an even cut.

Works pretty well, although it never seems to split the pill completely through but only by a tiny bit & it keeps it in place while cutting it very well. I've even cut 1/2s in 1/2 evenly.

Summary: "Cheap Quality"
I was looking for a quality pill cutter/splitter and the search will continue. I purchased a Rite Aid Pill Cutter and it was ok...some pills did crumble sometimes during cutting. So I decided to get the Apex Ultra Pill Splitter and it was worst than the one that I currently own. The new device made more crumble than my old one.
